Americans in their 50s are learning AI skills at twice the rate of their younger compatriots, according to a US national non profit organisation dedicated to the training and placement of such workers. The country’s workforce is ageing. Anothert study shows nearly one in four US workers is now 55 or older — 23.2% of the total workforce, up from 22.1% a decade ago. And in that decade the number aged 65 and older grew by more than 40%. But older workers aren’t just hanging on, notes marketing and media expert Tony Case in a fascinating and timely overview published in the Roar Report, a newsletter focussing on the 50 plus marketplace. “Workers who know their experience is an asset rather than a liability, and who are willing to pair it with genuine curiosity about new tools, may find themselves holding exactly the career edge that the moment demands”.
