The UK’s silver solo travellers are less inclined to fly than their younger counterparts – and more likely to take the train, according to new data. Only 35% over those over 65 choose to go by air, compared with two thirds (66%) of 25-24. year olds, a survey by the only travel company Opodo found. Rail travel is highest among millennials (51%) and boomers (37%). And while the figure is lower than for Gen Z (44%) the proportion of Boomer favouring driving is a surprisingly high 29%.
