Resistance training such as weightlifting is the most effective way to stave off mobility problems as you age, according to new research. Simple strength exercises such as bodyweight squats, resistance bands, or light dumbbells can be enough to activate the benefits of a protein labelled CLCF1, the findings, published in Nature Communications, suggest. This helps build muscle strength, preserve bone density, and promote longevity. However, this involves self discipline, as daily sessions have an accumulative effect over time.
