Digital confidence among older adults in the US, a new survey shows, with 41% of those aged 63-75 41% rating their tech skills as between eight and ten out ten. That’s an increase of five percentage points over last year’s finding. And while the annual survey focused on two cohorts – one aged 63-68, the other 69-75, it found no meaningful statistical difference between the younger and older groups. Silver AI usage also increased significantly, up from 16% to 34% – and 64% of older Americans now use a smartphone as their primary internet access device. Likely to be largely mirrored in the UK, the survey “provides fresh insights into the market among older adults, offering a snapshot of behaviors, preferences, and trends shaping how older adults consume media, and more importantly, how much they trust the resources in front of them when making decisions”.
