Just over one in ten over-55s say an increase in flexible working options has prompted them to review their retirement plans, new research suggests. Most of them (60%) said the ability to work from home or choose their own hours had caused them to slow their transition to retirement, while 23% said they had simply delayed the move as a result. The research was commissioned by Wesleyan Financial Services. Meanwhile 26% were “unretiring” – taking on or planning to do some form of paid work in retirement. And while just over one in five of them (22%) was doing so to raise extra income, 19% said they wanted to keep their brains active.
