Pensions have outstripped average working age incomes under the Conservatives, according to a think tank report. But a leading expert on ageing points out that pensioners were preciously “playing catch up” for three decades following Margaret Thatcher’s axing of the link between pensions and average wages in 1980. The report comes from the Resolution Foundaton.
