Seven in ten UK business leaders agree their organisations benefit from the diverse perspectives brought by a multigenerational workforce, according to a new analysis. For the first time some UK businesses now employ workers from four generations, it says, with people born in the 1950s working alongside colleagues in their 20s or younger. Three in five buinsses say that the advantages are partly offset by difficulties in communication and collaboration – thought there is a growing consensus that such problems can be overstated and firms should focus “on the threads that unite” different age groups.
