Baby boomers are now more likely to watch TV stream ads than younger groups, according to global research. Amount one third of them (32%) of those with Netflix accounts have a version that shows them, compared with only 9% of Gen Z. Boomers are also 39% more likely than the average consumer to discover a brand through such ads. They are ready to spend money on products and services that support their well being, viewing them as investments in their health. For example, over a fifth of baby boomers own a smartwatch or smart wristband, with over 90% of those saying they primarily use it for health and fitness tracking – more than any other generation. And when wondering which tech brand to buy from, they are particularly swayed by user friendliness besides value for money and reliability. When it come to other spending they are more than twice as likely (211%) as the average consumer to book holday trips on a whim rather than plan ahead and, even if they are making an impulse purchase, they want to feel they are getting value for money.
