Cookery guru Martha Stewart, whose celebrity status dates from the days before TikTok or Facebook, has been named America’s top influencer over 50. In an inaugural poll from The Magazine, published by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), the 85 years old “queen of entertaining” heads a top ten that includes Snoop Dogg (54). Among others on the list are Halle Berry, who “shares makeup-free selfies and photos that celebrate body confidence” and Oscar nominated actor Salma Hayek, who is praised for using her platform to challenge stereotypes about aging”, posting photos of her gray “hair of wisdom”, calling it her “hair of wisdom” – and selfie captions such as “Me waking up and counting how many white hairs and wrinkles have crashed the party this morning.”.
